FTX hacker wakes up millions of dollars in ETH

The FTX hacker wakes up

On September 30, a company specializing in on-chain analysis revealed several movements linked to the FTX hacker.

“FTX exploiter 0x3e9 transferred a total of $10,250ETH ($17.1 million) via 5 addresses in the last 24 hours. Notably, the address has been very active after waking up and could continue to transfer $ETH, most likely to Thorchain! »

In fact, the latter moved 2,500 ETHor 4.2 million dollars from one of the addresses linked to the hack.

The next day, October 1, the hacker moved 7,749 additional ETH. These passed through the Thorchain router then via the Railgun protocol specialized in anonymity.

In addition, the hacker exchanged 2,500 ETH initially moved against 153.4 tBTCa tokenized version of Bitcoin issued by the Threshold network protocol.

In view of the transactions carried out, it would appear that the hacker undertook to launder funds. At least, the use of protocols such as Railgun demonstrates a desire to cover the tracks on stolen assets.

Sam Bankman-Fried trial continues

This whole affair is closely linked to the trial of Sam Bankman-Friedfounder of the FTX platform.
