Appeared in 1963, the 911 became the iconic Porsche model and to celebrate its 60 years of success, the German manufacturer launches an anniversary version produced in 1963 examples and designed for absolute driving pleasure. For the first time, the powerful 525 hp naturally aspirated flat 6-cylinder engine that equips the 911 GT3 RS is associated with a 6-speed manual gearbox and a lightweight clutch.

This model achieves the symbiosis between the 911 GT3 with Touring pack and the 911 GT3 RS intended for competition. It brings together the exceptional qualities of these two famous sports cars, particularly in terms of agility and driving dynamics. The 911 S/T weighs just 1,380 kg, making it the lightest 911 of the 992 generation. The Heritage Design pack, offered as an option, takes up the stylistic codes of the racing version of the 911 S from the late 1960s and early 1970s.

A modernized retro look

The aerodynamics of the 911 S/T have been optimized for road driving. The anniversary model is equipped with a spoiler lip on the automatically deploying retractable rear wing. The equipment also includes lightweight 20-inch (front) and 21-inch (rear) center-lock magnesium wheels. It is fitted with 255/35 ZR 20 tires at the front and 315/30 ZR 21 tires at the rear.

In the cabin, there is the choice between full bucket seats or “sport plus” seats with four adjustments. The instrument cluster and chronograph of the Sport Chrono package are dressed in a green reminiscent of classic Porsches. On the doors, it is possible to affix a number from 0 to 99 as well as a decorative sticker.

Duty of memory

The name 911 S/T marks its relationship with the high-performance version of the first generation 911. From 1969, Porsche offered a special version of the 911 S designed for competition. Internally these models were called 911 ST. Modifications to the chassis, wheels, engine and bodywork have significantly improved acceleration, braking, traction and cornering grip. These models were then not equipped with imposing spoilers or other aerodynamic elements which characterize today’s ultra-sports cars.

Incredible performance and prices

The 911 S/T goes from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds. It reaches a top speed of 300 km/h. The driving experience is enhanced by the sound signature of the lightweight sports exhaust system. The 911 S/T is the only 911 of the current generation to combine a double wishbone front axle and a multi-link rear axle without rear wheel steering.

The new Porsche 911 S/T is available at a price of €308,976. The Heritage Design 60 Years 911 pack is priced at €17,652. The Chronograph 1 – 911 S/T costs €11,950.
