Stunning portraits of Brooke Shield, Marilyn Monroe go under the hammer

Portraits of some of the greatest icons of the 20th century have sold for thousands of dollars as part of a recent Swann Auction House auction.

The photos up for auction and selling for thousands of dollars included nude shots of Marilyn Monroe by photographer Lawrence Schiller, which sold for $12,000.

Psychedelic snaps by The Beatles’ George Harrison for legendary photographer Richard Avedon went for $38,000.

There are also rare prints of Brooke Shields’ famous image advertising Calvin Klein jeans.

Photographs by legendary artist Andy Warhol are also part of the Swann Galleries auction, including William Burroughs snapshots and Holly Solomon’s famous photobooth photos that are up for sale.
