The young man who stormed I’m A Celebrity Castle in Wales and bragged that ITV needed to “step up their security” has admitted by punching his girlfriend’s neighbor in the car park.
Darryl “Taffy” Tipton launched his gratuitous attack against Robert Edwards, punching him in the face after he was told not to block a driveway with his car.
Edwards suffered a cut to his elbow during an altercation with the bearded 34-year-old in October last year, according to a court hearing.
The unemployed Tipton, from Colwyn Bay, North Wales, admitted the assault and was sentenced to 12 months in prison by magistrates in Llandudno on Monday. He must also pay £120 and £100 in damages.

Security staff and production workers had to “run for their lives” and were “blown off their feet” as winds of 70 mph battered the 19th century fort.
The hazardous weather prompted ITV bosses to present two live shows at the weekend of I’m a Celeb, which were replaced by syndicated clips looking back on the previous series.
Tipton was one of two people who stormed into the evicted group, bragging that it was as easy as showing up at Tesco.
He spent 90 minutes walking around the camp, filming Where the Stars Sleep.
Speaking to The Sun at the time, Tipton boasted: ‘ITV needs to step up their security.
We managed to walk around for about 90 minutes before we got caught.
There were a few guards but we waited until they were gone. Once inside, we were able to find our way around quite easily.
The hacker duo reportedly managed to slip through the show’s six-level security system, which included armadillo bullet-detecting bots, and took pictures of the entire camp.

Weather problems: The castle was exposed to weather conditions with gusty winds and strong rains that knocked down tree branches and safety signs.

On Monday, District Attorney James Neary told the judges that the Tipton victim and his wife had lived in their home for 22 years and had no problems until the Tiptons started visiting a neighbour.
On the day of the attack, Tipton parked his car partially across the driveway and was told not to.
But Mr Neary said the defendant punched Edwards in the face and cut the victim’s elbow when he fell. According to Edwards, the assault was “completely unprovoked”. Tipton was convicted of a similar offense in 2019.
The defense attorney, Simon Sargent, claimed there had been an argument, and Tipton “momentarily” lost his composure and struck Edwards.
He is remorseful for his actions. The lawyer said he accepts that his behavior is unacceptable.
Tipton was in custody before he appeared in court. In addition to the community order and fines imposed on him, Tipton was also ordered to complete 15 days of rehabilitation.
