Chromebooks are generally lower-end devices, but they can handle many light tasks like content consumption. However, most budget models come with small and often not so nice screens. So what do you do when you want to watch Netflix or do some gaming on your Chromebook? You can connect it to a TV, of course. Here are some ways to connect your Chromebook to a TV.

How to connect your Chromebook to a TV wirelessly

Connecting your Chromebook to a TV wirelessly isn’t ideal, but it can help if you don’t have a compatible cable on hand. There are two ways to do this, both of which require that you have a transmitter. To cast your Chromebook screen to a TV, you’ll need either an Android TV with Chromecast built-in, a Google Chromecast connected to the TV, or an Amazon Fire TV device connected. Chromecast and Fire TV procedures are similar but have some differences.

Chromecast is Google’s transmission protocol. To connect a Chromebook to a TV via Chromecast, both devices need to support it. Some TVs have the feature built in, but those that don’t require you to connect a Chromecast via HDMI. Note that you will need to connect your Chromebook and your TV/Chromecast to the same Wi-Fi network.

This method on the Chrome OS side of things is the same as above, but a few extra steps are required to enable screen mirroring on your Fire TV device. Here are the steps to follow to cast your Chromebook to TV using Fire TV.

Operate your TV with the Fire TV stick remote control. Once it’s up and running, go to File settings button, and select it using the select button on the remote control. under settingsthere will be Presentation and sounds button. select it.

Your Fire TV will enter mirroring mode, and the TV screen will display a confirmation of this.
